Doug, your proposed changes to -p are exactly what I have been wanting
for a long time.

For example, I often want to scan all TCP ports but only the default
UDP ports.  With your patch proposals, I could do something like
nmap -sSU -pT:-,U:[-]

When scanning a subnet that has some Windows systems, some Cisco
equipment, and some Solaris systems, the UDP scanning can get bogged
down if I am forced to do all 65k ports.

Good job, I hope this can be worked in.
