I cannot reproduce this. I tried:

$ sudo nmap -v --open -p75-85 192.168.1.0/24

I also tried with -d instead of -v, only using a known closed port (85)
for all hosts, and only scanning one host, but --open worked fine for
every combination of these. Maybe SuSe applies patches to packages, and
somehow that's what messed it up?
