Hello David

Thanks for your help. I used the same nmap version. I didn't update
nmap at least few months.
I mainly use command line nmap.

If you recall, few months ago I asked you about detecting OS for the
same IP. Then nmap didn't recognize anything. I was suprised that this
time I got a result.

I hope that on sunday, I will get some answers. Cross fingers for me.
I will apply all my social engineering skills. ;-)

My version is nmap 4.6 from gentoo portage. 4.62.appears as non
stable, so I wait.

Yesterday I ran nmap -sS -O -p 1-1024 some ip and nmap -sT -O -p

There is no "JUNOS 5.5R12" operating system in the current operating
system database nmap-os-db. There is, however, a "JUNOS 5.5R1.2" in the
first-generation database nmap-os-fingerprints, which doesn't exist with
current versions of Nmap.

Today I ran the same search on the same ip and now I get this:
No exact OS matches for host (If you know what OS is running on it,
see http://nmap.org/submit/ ).

You must have scanned with two different versions of Nmap on the
different days.

I must mention that the uptime is exactly as I got yesterday.

Can someone confirm if juniper junos 5.5R12 is correct?

No, we can't tell what the operating system is. If you happen to find
out what it is for sure, then please submit the fingerprint at
http://nmap.org/submit/.
