IMHO, since he's using the installer, he shouldn't have to install VC++ as
no compilation is required...

Try installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package,
this appeared to help the OP when he recently described the same problem

Fyodor, is there anything different about the new 4.65 build compared to
previous versions that could account for the error people are seeing, or is
it just a coincidence we've had two people mention this error message in
the
last few days?

hi,
i have downloaded and installed nmap-4.65 for
windows (windows self installer). After installing everything(including
winPcap-4.0.2), when i started the zenmap GUI and started the
scan
it says that,
'The Application failed to intialize
properly(0xc0150002).Click on OK to terminate the application'
with title as Application Error.
i also uninstalled and again installed. but the problem persist.. i am
using
Windows XP proffesional edition with 256MB RAM and 3GHZ processor
speed....
please help me..
