I found a way to reproduce the problem. It only seems to happen when the
scan includes OS detection (-O or -A). I ran an Intense scan on a local
IP and clicked "Hosts Viewer". I got the error

 gtk.main()

Umit also had this problem and I workarounded it by changing the tab
orientation that is used in the notebook inside "Operating System". It
display tabs on the left side, so I changed it back to the default
(top).

Thanks, I have taken your advice and done the same workaround. I managed
to isolate a small test case that caused the bug and added it to an
existing bug report at the GNOME Bugzilla:
