One month late, but I wanted to say - this sounds handy. I've run
into the issue of needing info on an interface multiple times

be great to have an easier way to handle that!
Yes Ron, your dhcp-discover script will need this info (prerule mode).
Perhaps when you have some time, you can make a small test to see if
it's working and you have all the info you need, thx.
Yeah, basically I want this patch implemented with at least one script
to shake out any bugs. Feel free (anybody) to make a branch and add the
interface patch, then make changes to dhcp-discover or any other script.
Then we'll merge it all at once.
Pls find attached a new version to make the 'nmap.get_interface_info()'
function return nil and an error message on failures as suggested by
If you want to test the patch for bugs a script get_interface.nse is also
attached, but I think it would be better to test it with a real example.
BTW David when you have some time, pls check the Nping/libnetutil
problem I've mentioned in the first mail of this thread. Thx in advance.
