You are trying to listen on a port and connect to a SOCKS proxy server at the same time. You can only do one or the
other, not both. It's not a bug, you are doing it wrong.

hi,

i'am a new user of ncat on windows platform, and i noticed that it does not
recognize socks4 as a http type, the command i formulate was :

[ncat.exe -lvk 1080 --proxy-type socks4 --allow *.*.*.*]

and the output i got was :

[Ncat: Invalid proxy type "socks4". QUITTING.]

the problem is that i see in all the documentations i found that ncat
support socks4, i have the version 5.59BETA1, and i have this issue.
Please confirm this bug, or tell me how to solve this issue.
