Nmap Hackers: Nmap 2.3BETA9

Nmap 2.3BETA9

From: Fyodor <fyodor_at_dhp.com>
Date: Tue, 7 Dec 1999 13:42:56 -0500 (EST)

I have released Nmap 2.3BETA9 at http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ .

Quick links:
http://www.insecure.org/nmap/dist/nmap-2.3BETA9.tgz
http://www.insecure.org/nmap/dist/nmap-2.3BETA9-1.i386.rpm
http://www.insecure.org/nmap/dist/nmap-2.3BETA9-1.src.rpm

This will mostly be useful to Linux/Alpha users and people who frequently
perform OS scans. Here are the most important changes from BETA8:

-- Applied patch by Mark Abene (Phiber Optik) to fix several type
length issues so that it works on Linux/Alpha.

-- Applied patch by Matthieu Verbert <mve_at_zurich.ibm.com> to speed up
OSScan

Cheers,
-F

"It was a stunning justification of the hacker insistence that when
manuals and other 'secrets' are freely disseminated the creators have
more fun, the challenge is greater, the industry benefits, and the
users get rewarded by much better products" -- Steven Levy in _Hackers_
