Nmap Hackers: Greetings

Greetings

From: Nick Krassas <dinos_at_nikolaou.fsnet.co.uk>

Greetings all,
I would like to recommend something. Even though nmap provides a variety
of scan types, I found useful to be able, to set various TCP flags. For
example, during some test at my systems i noticed that, sending packets with
just the Push flag on at the packet, several firewalls were unable to detect
those packets. Black ice, Norton personal firewall, with default
configuration were unaware of the packets, thought using SYN Xmas or even
Ymas packets the attempts were noted.

If somebody would like to comment on that please do so. I hope that I'm
sending the mail to the correct list.

Regards,

Dinos
