Sandip,
openvas-scanner uses 9390 by default which can be overridden in the command
line option. For Openvas-manager also you pass the port option in command
line.
To auto-start, that's something for you to figure out on your system. You'll
need to add into /etc/init.d/.
I am not sure about the scan issue. Hopefully, someone else would come back.
Chandra.

issue
Hi Chandra,
Thanks for the response.
No other service is using that port but my query is how we can make sure
that specific services openvas manager and openvas scanner should auto start
and should use specific ports.
Can we make some changes at the time of integration or is there any other
way?
Also I am also getting scan failed error.
Please find attached screenshot.
For this error I need to rebuild database multiple times.

You mentioned that after you restart manually, it starts working. Could be
that in the auto startup mode when it is not working some other service is
already bound to the port you are trying to use.
The only reason you can see "Failed to acquire socket" is when the port that
it is trying to bind is occupied.
Chandra.

Hi Chandra,
I have checked and found that there is no conflict. Both openvas-manager and
openvas-scanner are running on different ports.
Please find below screenshot.

Hi Chandra,
The socket error is "Failed to acquire socket".
For this error to resolve I need to restart openvas services number of
times.
Make sure you do not have two services trying to bind to the same port.
Check the ports openvas-manager, openvas-scanner etc. are configured to run
on different ports and make sure there is no conflict.
Also please find attached error when scan failed.
For this error I need to rebuild database multiple times.
Please let me know if you need more details.

Hello Sandip,
Can you give more details like what error you are getting, what is the
socket error and what is the scan error? The more information you provide
would help someone to look into it.
Chandra.

Hi All.
I am trying to integrate OpenVAS with one product.
product is based on debian linux.
I have done with integration and after successful installation of product
when we run VA scan, we are getting error and after restarting OpenVAS
services it resolve the socket error issue but still the scan fails.
To resolve that issue we need to rebuilt the OpenVAS database multiple
times.
Ideally it should work without database rebuild and also services should
start automatically.
Please let me know if you need further details.
Regards,
Sandip Bankewar
