To get the OpenVAS demo to work in vSphere 5 (ESX 5) I extraced the ovf
file from the archive and changed the storage adapter resource definition
to SCSI from SATA. I have confirmed it works.
I've attached a patch.
Hi.
The OpenVAS 5.0 Demo seems to have the following issues:
- Uses IDE/SATA for virtual disk storage by default (this is a bit slow)
- This makes the OVF un-importable into (at least our) vSphere/ESXi 5
environment
- The OVF flat-out fails to install in XenServer
We get the error "OVF hardware element 'ResourceType' with instance ID
'5': No support for the virtual hardware device type '20'." during
deployment into vSphere 5.
