In the GSA when the progress bar during a scan is updating... how does
that work? Does a certain phase of a scan constitute a certain percentage
(e.g. port mapping complete = 10%) or is the length of the scan estimated
somehow?
It's the port progress across all the target hosts, as returned by the
scanner in OTP STATUS. It's set to 1 if it's 0 to show that the scan has
really started. It's set to 99 if it's 100, so show that the scan is still
active.
