Make sure that the manager is running. Sometimes (usually shortly
after the start) the manager is to busy to handle logins. Just try
again. 

For debugging edit the /etc/openvasmd_log.conf and change all
"level=127" to "level=128" ,start the manager with the "-v" switch and
watch the openvasmd.log.
