Had a guy I used to work with who was madly in love with Britney Spears. He
even was a member of her fan club. So myself and a co-worker sent him one
saying that he was the winner of "A night out with Britney" fan club
winner. We could not keep the straight face for his celebration. So it
lasted all of 15 mins, but it was worth it.

My personal favorite was when I used an email function in my employers
web app to send an email from bgates at microsoft.com to our unix admins.
Watching their reaction in irc was hilarious. One of them was so mad
when I confessed to it that he wouldn't speak to me for the rest if
I'm digging our story time. Anyone else have fun ones to share?
I one faked an entire email conversation between two academic researchers,
including replies to the original fake emails. Quite how this went down I'll
never know, but sometimes it's the not knowing that makes the story truly
