[PEN-TEST] Dead Threads and other Administrivia
From: Alfred Huger <ah () SECURITYFOCUS COM>
Date: Wed, 4 Oct 2000 08:44:09 -0700

Morning folks (well morning for some anyhow),

I am going to kill a couple of threads here:

1. Recourse Tech. It's an interesting thread but it is off topic and we
could discuss honeypots forever and a day.

2. Risk Assesment Templates

Unless people actualy want to pony up templates I will not approve posts
on this.

Ok, now on to Administrivia.

1. Unnaproved posts.

I only approve about 40% of the Pen-Test messages that come through. So b
this math there are a signifigant amount of posts that get zorched. There
are reasons for this. For example:

        - Your post was entirely off topic
        - You are posting about a subject we have already killed the
          thread on.
        - You are posting unrestrained marketing hype.
        - You are slandering someone.

There are some further reasons I kill posts that might not be as easy to
figure out.

        - You have peppered your mail with acronyms without bothering to
explain them. I am not talking about 'FTP' or 'ONC RPC' etc. I
am referring to things like "well I would check your 223suru2
against your 77DESS'. If you are going to use acronyms that most
of will not understand - identify them.
