I know that only some old ethernet cards allows to change
MAC address, generally it's not possible because MAC is
stamped by the factory, but i found (in a forum) a nice way to
change it (not permanently):

from Todd Graham post:
> reflections# ifconfig eth0
> eth0 Link encap:10Mbps Ethernet HWaddr 00:A0:24:81:A7:44
> reflections# ifconfig eth0 down
> reflections# ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:A0:24:81:A7:45
> reflections# ifconfig eth0
> eth0 Link encap:10Mbps Ethernet HWaddr 00:A0:24:81:A7:45

this change is not permanent but if you need to elude an authentication
(or similar) you can change this address befor bringing up your interface.
But i know that there is also another way, you can dump the eeprom present
on the card, from this dump you can change the MAC address, the you must
re-upgrade the eeprom with new mac address :))))))
