    Just to double check, the network you are working with is using
vlan trunking on multiple switches correct?  I have commonly met the
misconception about that being an issue for VLAN's on just 
one switch...

Can you expand on this, because I'm not entirely sure what you mean.

I've sent UDP packets to broadcast addresses and had them available on all
VLANS on a pair of switches, although that was a definite misconfiguration.
