different LAN Manager authentication level? One box sends LM & NTLM
responses, the other system refuse LM & NTML?

Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\LAN Manager Authentication
Level

Furthermore use:
NET USE Z: \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\c$ /user:domainname\username password
