Penetration Testing: RE: Modem detection in a LAN

RE: Modem detection in a LAN

Check out Mdmchk.pl from Carvdawg. It currently checks NT machines but can
probably be modified to check *nix machines. Personally, I don't know how
to check a *nix box remotely for a modem. This should be a good starting
place.

Mdmchk.pl
This script checks remote NT machines for the existence of a modem driver.
This is particularly useful in determining if a workstation has a modem
installed.

<> Hi all,
<>
<> Been interested by a way to detect modems connected to
<> machines in a LAN, I

<> without dialing".
<>
<> I have been very interested by the information found, and I

<> modem connected to
<> an *nix or windows machine in a LAN.
<> Michael Gough was talking about such a tool in the nov. 2000
<> thread, but I
<> have been unable to contact him.
<>
<> Anybody's got such a tool that could be shared ?
<>
<> Thanks,
<>
