Or...if you need to scan REALLY large data sets in a fast
manner...something along the lines of paketto is nice. It's designed in
a non-blocking manner so scans happen very quickly.
If nmap is the suite you have to use, try disabling name lookups as
well. A port range can speed up too...but isn't applicable in all
situations.
