Penetration Testing: Pentesting HP L7680 Multi-function Printer

Hello everyone, I have a project to pentest a HP L7680 Multi-function Printer, what i  would like to do is make  a 
modem connect, then break out of the modem connection  and make a connection to the network. 

any idea's on how this could be done?
