                       State governments may not sell the
                       personal information on drivers licenses,
                       the US Supreme Court unanimously ruled
                       in a far-reaching decision Wednesday.

                       The justices said that a federal law
                       restricting departments of motor vehicles
                       from distributing that data to companies,
                       insurers, and direct marketers without
                       explicit permission is constitutional, and
                       overturned an earlier appeals court
