NPR's Morning Edition and Justice Talking Team up to put the spotlight on
Video Surveillance
Keep smiling -- you no longer know when you may be on camera. Video cameras
are popping up in public parks, playgrounds and on street corners in cities
throughout the nation. Post 9-11, has the use of high-tech cameras become
a necessary security precaution or an invasion of privacy?
A debate on National Public Radio's Justice Talking puts that question to
Electronic Privacy Information Center Director Marc Rotenberg and security
expert Robert J. Castelli, advocates who hold opposing views on video
surveillance and face recognition technology. Excerpts of the debate will
be featured during a special two-part report on NPR's Morning Edition. The
full debate will air on Justice Talking on public radio stations nationwide.
