Ok looks like I got this working!
Steps I took:
rm -rf *
cfg.sh file contains:
./configure --enable-sourcefire --with-libpcap-libraries=/usr/local/lib
--disable-static-daq --enable-flexresp3 \
Now Snort starts at least! :-)
