This morning I woke up, booted up win98 and showered. When I got back
and tried to send a message through icq (2000 beta 4.60), each message
suddenly formed a little window underneath the message body window with
ads. Now I have ads underneath each message I send...

Old thread, I know..

I found this page with an extensive explanation on how to remove the
banner-window *AND* enlarge the messaging window so it looks like nothing
happened. It also tells you how to disable AutoUpdates by registry key.

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=icq+banner&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&rnum=3&seld=924825678&ic=1

It seems to work. This tool ResHacker helps to change windows properties
so you can change the dialog boxes...

Be sure to make backups :]]

Sander.
