I'm studying cmake rules in the plugin/ directory. I can not find
out, how cmake knows how to build the plugin.c file for each of the
plugins. Where is this defined?

register_dissector_files(plugin.c
        plugin
        ${DISSECTOR_SRC}
)

which gets defined in cmake/modules/UseMakeDissectorReg.cmake
