radius is now being replaced by diameter protocol over ipsec protocol + sctp + ipv6
I had thought that DIAMETER was an attempt to address the shortcomings of RADIUS vis-a-vis mobile-IP. Furthermore, I was under the impression that the DIAMETER effort had concluded without producing an RFC, instead a new IETF WG, under "Operations and Management" NASREQ, had been spawned to investigate the requirements for the Network Access Servers, and "next generation" AAA. _____________________________________________________________ Get 25MB, POP3, Spam Filtering with LYCOS MAIL PLUS for $19.95/year. http://login.mail.lycos.com/brandPage.shtml?pageId=plus&ref=lmtplus
