Re: Terminal Services on Win2003 Server

I have Win2003 operating as a terminal server, and I see little or no difference from the former Win2000 terminal server. There may be some advantages...the one big plus for us is that our remote users who have printers which already have Win2003 drivers are able to print remotely with little administrative assistance. I did several upgrades from Win2000 to Win2003 by starting with the least complicated servers first. A risk may be that some older software or printers may not work with Win2003. For instance, our Mita copier/printer drivers did not work on Win2003. For such reasons, I have left some servers as Win2000. My advice is to upgrade one server at a time, and deal with each different problem as it "unexpectedly" appears. There is a little learning curve with Win2003, but it is basically the same (once you get past the enhanced internet browsing, etc.). We are getting a separate machine for many other purposes, one of which is to make it our Terminal Services Server also. We are a non-profit organization and can usually avail of some discounted software from major companies. It just so happens that they don't have Win2K now, and they only provide Win2003 Server Enterprise. My question then is, has anyone worked extensively with Windows 2003? By extensively, I mean, having it in a production environment and not cranking up on some glitches that MS didn't issue because they needed to release something real quick. My personal rule of thumb is, never buy anything "just released" by Microsoft (wait a year or so...). How about Terminal Server on Windows 2003? I've read about some improvements on their website but I would rather hear what others have to say about it. I have never used Windows 2003 yet, do you think it's a good time to have it and be part of our Win2K domain?
