I might have an idea. If you enter WORD as a wep base-key (some call it password), some devices produce different hex output... I don't know why though. Some might manipulate that entered wep-word and then translate it to hex, some just translate to hex... It might be setup-dependable, or not - in my case I couldn't find any wep-basekey convertion algorythm setup... So just enter default hex values and see... Other problem might be the form. On my AP I have to put 0xNN format with "-" after each second number, while my sta takes just hex values with ":" after each as a separator. And the third is just a long string of hex values - which is the most convenient way I guess :-). If I think of something else, I'll let you know. Good luck -- Tomas
Does anything special need to be done to make the Cisco 350 Series Aironet Wireless card to work with a Linksys Wireless access point using WEP? The card works fine with the Access Point when WEP is disabled but not when enabled. Thanks in advance for your help. Put that script into the cron and execute as often as desired. No tool, but an easy solution! I am aware that I can check the DHCP logto find this out, but I want something that will warn me in real time that a computer has connected.
