In-Reply-To: <09ff01c38454$48b4beb0$6e811299@gillett> Thanks for answering and mea culpa. The network gateway is 192.168.1.254 . In fact I have routable IP on a fully routable network. I have changed the real IP for privacy reasons. I think that there is no network firewall. And I am almost sure there is no problem with the gateway computer. Probably this computer is simply discarding packets with bogus source or destination. At this point the only logical suposition is that the packets are coming from a computer inside the local network. Which is either somehow 'defective' or 'owned'. Or, maybe there is a stupid 'script kid' around the place. If there is a 'defective' computer then there is not my ******* bussiness. But if it is a DoS attempt or a hacking attempt... In the end I will reformulate the question: what is the effect of such packets on various operating systems (W95, W98, WXP, W2K, *nix). --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
