Hello,

The mxtreme appliance will protect the Exchange server, also a
correctly setup Postfix with amavisd-new configuration will protect the
exchange server.

You can block attachments for all or on a user bases plus many other
things.

How to protect exchange --- make sure only valid e-mail is sent to it
for accounts that exist.

Michael.

There are many options mentioned so far but none of these really
"protect" the server they just relay things backwards and forwards,

I use "GFI MailSecurity" ( http://www.gfi.com/mailsecurity/ ) which
will not only prevent viruses and prohibited attachements getting
through, it will also prevent a variety of exploits against the
exchange server.

An open source application wuld certainly be cheaper and preferred in
my opinion but as yet I dont currently know of anything that provides
all this for exchange.
