I am a fan of http://www.nagios.org. Have several custom plugins to montior different things, on our enterprise
databases, file sizes, server performance, and so forth can use the plugins or create ssh tunnels for the custom
scripts. Does just about everything I need to monitor a few hundred severs and network equipment.

I'm a little biased, but if you are willing to spend money (email us for
details) I work on a great network monitoring product.
www.indicative.com (sorry about the mostly marketing web page).
