Greetings John,

Recently there was a thread on the Forensics list about blocking USB write
attempts. You can search for it on one of the list's archives, it was
entitled "USB Write Blocker but going the other way?!".

You could also take a look at a registry setting for XP SP2 that allows one
to prevent write operations to USB block storage devices. The link was also
posted on the refered Forensics thread:

Tipically in cases like that you'll need a combo of technical measures
preventing users from using such devices and a good written policy that you
must make your users aware of, with applicable penalties in case of
non-compliance.

Regards,

Subject: USB Usage Policy

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had a USB usage policy or if
an organization as already put one together. I've
searched but couldn't find one.

My focus is USB Strorage devices.

Basicly i'm looking for ammo for not using them.

Thank you
