You can use ipsec settings to filter ports on a Windows 2000 computer. Click on the start button and select Network and Dial-up Connections. Open the properties for the Local Area Connection and select the properties for TCP/IP. Click the advance button and select the Options tab. Next select TCP/IP filtering and click the properties button. From there you can setup what ports you want to block. -----Original Message----- From: SandySue () epix net [mailto:SandySue () epix net] Sent: Friday, August 26, 2005 6:00 AM To: security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: Windows Server 2000 port lock down Can anyone direct me to a set of windows commands to close ports on a Windows 2000 server (or if necessary, a third party application that can be loaded on a Windows 2000 server to close ports). I'm looking for a solution to close ports that encompasses the least amount of process overhead; the goal is lock down outbound traffic. The solution must work on a 2000 Server. Thanks bunches!!!
