Hi Dan, I'm not sure how helpful will be my opinion but it is recommended to ask the system administrator to provide you the notebook with changes (inclusive patches) made/installed on the system and then to try to corelate the instalation made with your system symptoms. Also you can try to scan the system with some removal tools (if the system is unstable - you didn't say if the system suddenly reboot or crash) for Sasser E, Nimos, HLLW.Lovegate. Good Luck!
