i have a shuttle skg-41 (close enough) with an amd mp 1900+.  has one fan, and 
is almost completely silent without 7200rpm drives in it.  (with two 80g 
drives, there is noise, but only drive noise).  boot from live-cd and you 
have diskless operation.  the skg was 159$us, the mp 1900+ was 121$us. 
everything else is onboard mini-atx. a pci and agp expansion slot is 
available for a second nic, or whatever.
