hi,

The better way, i think, is to overwrite the source of bash and when
the bash want to write in his history file, do a copy And when he want
to execute some prog use a pipe to have the output and copy them.

What version of *nix will this have to run on, as I may know of a
couple of things that you could use? Basically you want a keylogger
right, with a couple of slights mods to it, also are you averse to
kernel modules doing this, or do you want a program that you can put in
/root, /opt, or where ever?

Hello,

I was hoping that someone could help me out. I would be much obliged.
I need a shell program that will record what a user enters, write it
to a file (possibly in the user's home directory), a time stamp, and,
say, the first 100 characters of text that the command issued
produced. No control charachters should appear in the file. I've
concluded that a really long .history isn't good enough.
I've been trying to write one using ptys but since I'm not so great
of a programmer, I'm hoping someone out there has already written such
a thing.

Cordially,
MK
