I have to agree with Snoopy, if you send that server over there what guarantee do you have that they will set it up according to your wishes and, also, do they know how to set it up in the first place???? If they know how to set it up how can you be sure they won't surf the 'net freely?? I think you're better off shipping the server to them after you've configured it provided you have all the necessary info ahead of time. But once again, without being physically there your at their mercy!! -----Original Message----- From: listbounce () securityfocus com [mailto:listbounce () securityfocus com] On Behalf Of Snoopy Brown Sent: Tuesday, December 12, 2006 2:57 PM To: security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: Re: Internet security Hi, 1st time writing to the list, so 'Hello List!' 2nd how about you hire a person to do that over in Puerto Rico? Seems to me that it's a risky proposition to try and send over a piece of hardware so they can just 'plug it in' and leave it as is. There's bound to be something that needs tweaking and/or changing. Last, if you "dont trust them with the internet and the security of the data thats headed over there", why are you sending it???
