Hello List, I received an interesting link from the CCE list and added a few additional links. It is "Former expert witness pleads guilty to perjury. Once a courtroom darling, man faces 10 years in jail for faking qualifications." The News Stories: http://www.fresnobee.com/263/story/45900.html http://calibre.mworld.com/m/m.w?lp=GetStory&id=252803861 http://www.informationweek.com/news/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=19950024 4 The Government view: www.justice.gov/usao/cae/press_releases/docs/2007/05-04-07EdmistonPlea.p df I would tender the opinion that this is why it is always good to show a little distrust and even when someone is recommended by a trusted party it is good to validate their credentials. In this situation there are a few possible appeals where he was involved. In CISSP or certification examples, it is simple to do an online validation. This of course adds weight to the persons admonitions of expertise. The few who lie make it a little more difficult for the rest of us, but those with qualifications (real ones) should have no issues in providing them.
