We do not want to use GPO in 2k domain
Why not? What are the underlying issues with not taking advantage of your out-of-the-box and supported capabilities? Are there specific security, business, legal/compliance drivers behind this notion?
Our management like to see something that automatically lock workstation as soon as users are out of certain proximity range. And also want to automatically unlock as soon as comeback at desk without typing longer password.
I once sat down with a health services client who wanted the same exact thing - whether you're using biometrics, secure identity, or RFID, in most cases, 1) getting business buy-in on this I'm sure would prove a difficult task and 2) this simply sounds unrealistic unless "Star Trek" functionality is what you're looking for. suggestion on product? Like to know what others are using?
