The problem with Ethereal/Wireshark, though, is that it can't see (to
my knowledge, at least) emails that use RPC (such as Exchange).

If it can, I haven't been able to decipher it...

As for the Colasoft product that was mentioned, it will be interesting
to see if that actually works. I suspect it only does POP3 or direct
SMTP, however I could be wrong...

How about wiretap professional?
Do a google for email sniffers and you'll get heaps of stuff. You can even
use ethereal/wireshark for tasks like this-it's just a little more time
consuming I guess.

Subject: E mail snopping tool

Hi All,

I am reading the book IT Security: Risking the
Corporation by Linda Ann McCarthy. in the book she is
talking about reading mail of another user in the lan.
she is telling that by downloading a tool dedicated
for this porpose ( dedicated to reading else's mail)
she could in 30 seconds, see someone else mail.

I know that if this tool exist maybe it involves
around doing arp spoffing attack or something similar,
I know about dniff etc but I didnt know tools exist to
do just mail snopping.

Did someone knows about those tools?

Thanks a lot,

Juan
