In addition to the fine reasons that have been given thus far, I'd like to voice my vote against it.

The moment a manufacturer comes out with full disk encryption, they have just nominated the next target for every 
crypto-cracker on the planet, The simple fact that law enforcement will need/want access to the files on someone's 
machine to make a case will ensure that it happens.
