Another option is to use Risk Transfer, i.e. insure your business
against DDOS. So if a DDOS does occur, you will be able to at least
recover  the cost of lost business. However you may not be able to
restore your business' reputation.

This is a not a solution to DDOS, but a Risk Management technique.
