Sorry, but I had to pick myself off the floor from laughing before I could reply.

The last 4 or 5 phishing emails that I have received that have had links to malware
downloaders, I have run through Virus Total. Not a single one of them were caught
by Symantec (not McAfee, or any of the other 'big AV companies'). Symantec simply
does not put out signatures fast enough to be viable in today's extra-hostile
environment.

First question to ask any AV vendor: How often do you publish new signatures? If
the answer isn't "hourly, or more often, as required", don't even give them the
time of day.
