  That depends on the server/implementation you are using... You can
tunnelize SMTP traffic using stunnel, sslserver or any SSL/TLS wrapper
before it reaches your real server (say, you install sslserver on port
465 and when a client connects to that port, you spawn the real SMTP
listener behind), or you can configure your email server to
accept/manage that traffic if it is capable of it.
  You might be able to configure your email server for using SSL (on
port 465) or STARTTLS on ports 25 and/or 587, but as I said before,
your server must be capable of doing it by itself (adding a SSL
certificate). If not, use one of the other tools above.
  Which server/implementation are you using?
