First you have to be sure 802.1x is supported by your infrastructure (L2
network equipments and OS)

802.1x seems to be more convenient, as certificate and supplicant
authentication is much hard to break.

MAC based authentication is too weak, as anyone can change the MAC
address on a computer by the right one.

Hello list,
I would like to secure access to my network using RADIUS authentication. I've two choices: RADIUS-MAC and
RADIUS-802.1x with certificate I want to kwon which of the two do you find easy to manage. In the doc I read,
RADIUS-802.1x is more recommended for wireless and RADIUS-MAC for wired networks. My network is wired and personally
I prefer RADIUS-802.1x which I think combines security and manageability.
What do you think ?
