Scan your DMZ for vulnerabilities

Import scan info into your SIEM so you know what assets are vulnerable

Deploy HIDS on DMZ servers

Create correlation rules to detect attacks on vulnerable assets (drops IDS false positive rate drastically).

Patch/Mitigate where necessary
