The bug described below has been fixed in ProQuake, the author J.P. Grossman has released ProQuake 1.02, this version also introduces a pq_draqfps console variable. ID was checking for a message and if the packet size was zero then it was an error, then preventing any more connections. Yet another ID Software bug. :) Again, this has only been fixed in ProQuake as far as I know. http://proquake.ai.mit.edu Lance Vavricka On Wed, 1 Nov 2000, alex medvedev wrote:
hallo, sorry if it is a known thing... running the following command on a quake1 server's ip address # nmap -sU -p 26000 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx in most cases will "crash" the quake1 server program. attempts to connect to or query it with qstat will result in "no response" message. # nmap --version --> nmap V. 2.3BETA14 quake2 or quake3 servers were not tested bye, -alexm
