To who it may concern, Even though this is quite a late submission, I'd like to point out that this no longer applies to the present day version of PowerPlay Enterprise Server. This article was recently brought to my attention by a client and even though this article is outdated, I'd like to set the record straight. In the latest version (6.61) there are two settings in the PPSRoot.cfx file that allow an administrator to control the level of security for the temporary files created by the application. These two settings are: FetchFiles=IN,Y,0 and SecureTempFiles=IN,Y,0 FetchFiles is designed to allow flexibility as to which server the temporary files get created. If the setting is left at 0 (default), then the files will be created on the web server machine that houses the PowerPlay gateway. If the option is changed from 0 to 1, the temporary file location switches to the actual application server. The SecureTempFiles setting will encrypt those temporary files, regardless of the FetchFiles value, as long as the value is changed to 1 from the default 0. Hopefully this will help to clear up any confusion that still may linger regarding PowerPlay Enterprise Server and the creation of temporary files. Scott Masson Support Consultant
