That's probably not be such a bad idea.

Seriously: what is it you're looking to do?

Not quite sure yet, I think the problem is that I'm interested in too much. A friend of mine has been poking at me to read up on exploits and vulnerabilities, and I've been reading bits of The Shellcoder's Handbook, but there are so many different aspects of "security" that it's hard saying, "I want to do /this/," because it's all interesting.

I guess doing some sort of consulting work, or network/webapp auditing work would be good, because that would involve lots of different skill sets, and that's a place where there's not much of an overlap in talent. I've got a networking and webapp development background, so I have a starting point for that, whereas with lots of the exploits most of what I'm learning is as I go along.

But I know what I want to do does not involve running tools once a week and generating reports.

It is nice reading this list because at least I know what sorts of things I should be looking up on.
